Bob Flanagan

Assistant Teaching Professor and
Director of Undergraduate Studies
Education: Ph.D., University of Iowa
Interests: Religion and Culture
Email: flanaganj@missouri.edu

My interest is in Religion and American Culture. Particular subjects about which I routinely read and think include: theories of religion and religious studies, Modernity as religion, diversity within Christianity, relationships between Christianity and other religious traditions, and the continuing importance of the thought of Henry Nelson Wieman for inquiry and teaching in religious studies.

The focus of my work is promoting thoughtful conversation among undergraduate students about the religious dimension of human life, with particular reference to the various cultures in which students at the University of Missouri live.
